The Company

Peter Hjerp and Ray Purdy have worked together on environmental contracts for over ten years (on collaborative projects between the Institute for European Environmental Policy and the Centre for Law and the Environment, University College London) before deciding to make a break on their own, founding Ecocentric Consulting in late 2014.

We are a friendly and purposely small company, with a wealth of environmental research knowledge. Our wonderful and highly experienced Associates, who form our Environmental Research Bureau, supplement this. We liked the name bureau as it conjures the sense of expert research being done late into the night over a whisky. 

Our aim when setting up the company was to undertake interesting and challenging research - that hopefully makes a difference to clients, and more broadly the environment. In short we are not a large profit driven body and are less driven by commercial targets, and are more academic and policy focused than many other consultancy companies. We want Ecocentric consulting to stay small, personable and highly expert.
